Future Creative Director: Maximillian Navarro

Designer. Young visionary. Future creative director. Currently residing in Riverside California, the Bay Area born, Maximillian Navarro is constantly working to perfect his craft in clothing design and style. Dipping his hand in drawing, painting, dance, and music, he believes that if he chose one outlet and applied himself accordingly, he’d succeed.  When faced with the question of “Why fashion?,” Max responded, “With fashion, currently, it’s the one outlet where I can express myself and do it effectively.''

Of course, getting your foot into fashion isn’t always as easy as design, create, then sell. Max explained that as of right now, he is currently going to be working on “one of one” pieces that are uniquely designed and customized for the individual in mind, along with creating silhouettes for styling instead of designing per say. However if his end goal is to be a creative director, he acknowledges that he’s going to have to learn how to pre-make items and predict the masses. He also acknowledges that sticking to one style of designs is suicide as the fashion industry is always riding the next trend. “If you’re not with the trends, unless you’re some big designer and can’t kill yourself monetarily, then you can stay to yourself. Personally, I think you as an individual changes over time, so why can’t your brand change as well.”

To stay inspired Max draws ideas from the community around him - music, other designers, art, and most importantly, his loved ones and friends. Heavily influenced by his peers, Max takes the saying, “You are who you surround yourself with,” to heart as he creates his designs. Our social circle plays a huge role in how we go through life and Max hopes that the best traits of those he keeps as friends are also reflected in his own personality. As Max puts his soul into his work, in a way, he would like to think that he is also honoring his friends and loved ones. “It really does affect how you live your life. Once you start choosing your friends, you start to realize certain friends affect my mood, my work ethic, aspirations.”
