Change Through Variety

Just because there is action, doesn't mean that there will be change. Many will do the same things and expect a certain outcome and believe that if you continue to do said action, you will eventually get the expected result. Especially if there are many that support and engage in the same mentalities, it’s a lot easier to continue what everyone else has been putting energy into. There is definitely power in numbers and there is always the possibility that there will be change in the future but if there are ways to get that change quicker and more efficiently, wouldn’t you do it?

The quicker changes come when different kinds of efforts are done to supplement the same outcome. Habits and consistency create ease but when there are things that we want to change, you can’t expect your first idea to do anything substantially different for long periods of time. Even if one action creates differences, with anything, adaptation, content, or neglect/atrophy sets in. Adding variety to build off a stable foundation creates uneasiness at first but with continuous practice, each new action can become a valuable resource of experience that you can look back and refer to.

Whether it’s societal, personal, physical, etc. continuous change requires continuous action. However, the continuous actions being done need to have variety in order to account for any possible hindrances, maladaptations, and loopholes that have the possibility of stunting any growth. Consistency does harbor strength, but that can only be built if the environment that surrounds you carries that same exact consistency. Through varying actions pertaining to one common goal, you can build upon a foundation that is open to positive change and can be defended from external factors that also have the possibility of coming in different forms.
